Here in South Africa, the OSL began its work after the second world war as one of its members, the Rev’d Edward Winckley DD. OSL., came to South Africa from England as a railway chaplain. Three years later he established a healing ministry in Kearsney in KZN, where people would come and stay for a while, be seen by doctors if needed, but primarily to receive, every day, the laying on of hands and prayer in the name of Jesus. The testimonies of miraculous healing from this ministry are well documented and wonderful!
The work at Kearsney changed over time and exists today as St Luke’s Home for the Mentally & Physically Challenged, which is a tremendous work of care and compassion.
