Our Fellowship Praying together, growing in trust and transparency with each other and delighting in God’s presence together are committed components of who we are and what we do. In this 5 minute talk, Anders shares about why we do this thing called “Community” – and why it’s important for the Kingdom of God. In time, we will share some of our members’ experiences reflections on this page. For now, we invite you to come and see for yourself at one of our Upcoming Events
Our mission is aptly expressed in the line “Revealing Jesus through Healing”; another way of putting it is we are living into Jesus’ prayer to the Father: “Your Kingdom come.” We have joined this Community as a response to the call on our lives to reveal the kingdom of God through continuing the ministry of Jesus. This includes salvation, freedom, and deliverance through His love by the power of the Holy Spirit. WE DO THIS THROUGH THE EMPOWERMENT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: Receiving God’s healing in and for ourselves Providing training and practical experience for ourselves and others in the […]
We live under the generous covenant of God in Christ, and in the freedom God gives us. Surrender: The calling of every disciple is a personal surrender to Jesus Christ, to follow Jesus and become like Jesus in thought, word and deed by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to the glory of God the Father. – Romans 12 Authority of the Bible: We pray with, study, delight in and submit to the Word of God as having authority over our lives and ministry. – 2 Timothy 3:16-17 Generosity: We believe that God has given us what we have, so […]
Biblical Foundations Our work rests on “the Gospel of God, which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy scriptures, the gospel concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh and was declared to be Son of God with power according to the spirit of holiness by resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles for the sake of his name.”(Romans 1:1b-5) There is certainly no shortage of Scriptures, but here is an excerpt of words […]
Why a Rule of Life? One characteristic of a Religious Community is that there is a shared way of life that bind us together. This can look very different. From the solemn permanence of a Benedictine Monastery to the missionary commitment of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) and from the strict isolation of Athonite Hermits to the embedded witness of Franciscan Tertiaries. These are old and odd names that give testimony to how the Holy Spirit has called people to Jesus – often in response to a decline in godliness of secular society or the church, or both – since […]
Here in South Africa, the OSL began its work after the second world war as one of its members, the Rev’d Edward Winckley DD. OSL., came to South Africa from England as a railway chaplain. Three years later he established a healing ministry in Kearsney in KZN, where people would come and stay for a while, be seen by doctors if needed, but primarily to receive, every day, the laying on of hands and prayer in the name of Jesus. The testimonies of miraculous healing from this ministry are well documented and wonderful! The work at Kearsney changed over time […]
What is the OSL? The Order of Saint Luke is a Christ-centered, international and inter-denominational healing ministry comprised of clergy and laity who belong to healing communities (both in person and on-line). Members share in fellowship and learning to receive and grow in the healing ministry of Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit to the glory of God the Father. As we are being healed through Jesus Christ, we are also being trained to offer prayer in our communities and beyond. This is our focused mission and ministry. We welcome Christians from all churches to join with […]
